Education & Legal Background
Joseph A. Lambson received his Juris Doctor from Washington University School of Law in St. Louis, Missouri, and holds a degree in philosophy from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah.
Mr. Lambson has worked at the Marriage Law Foundation, where he assisted in preparing an article published by the Harvard Journal of Law and Public Policy. After returning to St. Louis, Missouri, he joined a prominent area family law firm in Clayton, Missouri and was made a partner in 2012. In 2014, Mr. Lambson left to become a founding member of the law firm of Coulter Lambson, LLC.
Mr. Lambson focuses his practice on high asset divorce and complex child custody matters, often those with concerns about a litigant’s mental health, allegations of substance abuse or of domestic violence. A significant portion of Mr. Lambson’s practice is also devoted to representing individuals who have loved ones with special needs and who are going through the family court process or who are seeking guardianship of a disabled family member. Mr. Lambson was also one of the first attorneys in the St. Louis area to start practicing in the area of school bullying and cyber bullying, helping individuals and families navigate their options in situations where their child or loved one is the victim of abuse, harassment or negligence.
Awards and Recognitions
Mr. Lambson was recently named as “10 Best Attorney” by the American Institute of Family Law Attorneys (AIOFLA) and was nominated as a “top 10” attorney by NAFLA (National Association of Family Law Attorneys). Since 2013, Mr. Lambson has maintained a Rating of 10.0 Superb by Avvo, a legal services forum dedicated to providing legal consumers with information about attorneys by area of practice.
Mr. Lambson was a founder and the former President of the Hispanic Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis and is fully fluent in Spanish. He currently lives in Saint Louis County, Missouri with his wife and two children.
